CHANGES IN TEXAS IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

Beginning August 1, 2009, students entering Kindergarten and 7th grade will be required to have the following immunizations:

Kindergarten

• Hepatitis A
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
• Varicella (Chicken Pox)

Seventh Grade

• Varicella (Chicken Pox) or a written statement
• Tetanus, Diptheria and acellular pertussis (Tdap)
• Meningococcal

Local clinics which provide immunizations and influenza vaccines are the South Texas Medical Clinic (543-2956) and Mid-Coast Medical Clinic (543-5510.)
